2026 NFL Draft Pittsburgh Campus Layout

The NFL released the first official renderings for the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, and they confirm something important: this isn't a single stage in a parking lot. It's a two-site campus stretching from the North Shore to Point State Park — connected by the Roberto Clemente Bridge and the Gateway Clipper river shuttle, with Pittsburgh's rivers, bridges, and skyline as the TV backdrop for 50 million viewers worldwide.

The Draft Theater and Main Stage sit just outside Acrisure Stadium on Pittsburgh's North Shore. The stage design echoes Pittsburgh's iconic yellow bridges — every wide shot from the stage puts Downtown's skyline directly in the background. The immediate viewing area around the stage holds roughly 1,000 people. Everyone else experiences the 2026 NFL Draft from the surrounding campus.

On the Downtown side of the Allegheny River, Point State Park hosts the NFL Draft Experience — the league's free interactive fan festival. Exhibits, youth programming, food and beverage, and immersive NFL installations fill the park at the confluence of Pittsburgh's three rivers. This is where the majority of the 500,000–700,000 expected attendees will actually spend their time during the three-day event.

The two sites connect via two signature Pittsburgh elements. The Roberto Clemente Bridge closes to vehicle traffic for the entire Draft Weekend, becoming a pedestrian-only corridor between the North Shore and Downtown. If you've walked it after a Steelers win, you know what that bridge feels like packed with people — multiply that across three continuous days with no final whistle. The full Gateway Clipper Fleet simultaneously operates as river transit between Draft sites, offering fans a distinctly Pittsburgh way to move between venues along the Allegheny.

"Pittsburgh isn't just hosting the 2026 NFL Draft. It's being used as the set."

Pittsburgh Neighborhoods Near the NFL Draft

The NFL maps show the campus boundaries. They don't show what happens one block outside them. Here's the real neighborhood-by-neighborhood breakdown of what to expect during 2026 NFL Draft week in Pittsburgh.

North Shore

Ground Zero

The North Shore is the epicenter of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. Expect full road closures on W. General Robinson Street and Art Rooney Avenue for the duration of the event. If you commute through or live near the North Shore, plan your entire week differently — there is no off-peak window from April 23–25.

Strip District

Massive Spillover

The Strip District sits a 10-minute walk from both the Roberto Clemente Bridge and Point State Park. When 200,000+ people need lunch on a Saturday, they walk here. Strip District business owners: this is your Super Bowl weekend. If you need to run errands in the Strip, go Thursday morning before the crowds arrive. By Friday afternoon it'll be wall-to-wall.

Downtown Pittsburgh

Fan Hub

Downtown hotels are already filling. Restaurants along Penn Avenue and Liberty Avenue in the Cultural District will run at tourist-level volume for three consecutive days. Point State Park is the anchor — the Cultural District and surrounding Golden Triangle become a natural overflow zone between Draft sessions. If you're staying Downtown for NFL Draft Pittsburgh 2026, book now.

Lawrenceville

Smart Stay Zone

Lawrenceville is where the out-of-town fans who did their research will stay during NFL Draft week Pittsburgh 2026. It's 15–20 minutes from both Draft sites, close enough to be convenient, far enough to escape the immediate chaos. Short-term rental prices in 15201 will reflect demand. Homeowners in Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, and Shadyside not listing on Airbnb for Draft Weekend are leaving real money on the table.

Bloomfield & Shadyside

Low Direct Impact

Far enough from the Draft campus to feel relatively normal. Close enough to Pittsburgh's East End restaurant and bar corridors to see real visitor foot traffic on Liberty and Ellsworth Avenues. Low disruption, some upside for businesses.

NFL Draft Pittsburgh 2026 & Real Estate

Tim Sells Pittsburgh · REALTOR® Take

Events like this don't move comps. They move awareness.

The 2026 NFL Draft puts Pittsburgh in front of 50 million broadcast viewers and up to 700,000 in-person visitors over three days. A meaningful percentage of those people have never been to Pittsburgh. Some will look at this city with completely fresh eyes — and quietly ask themselves whether they could live here.

That's not hype. That's exactly what happened in Nashville after the 2019 NFL Draft. It's what happened in Kansas City. Major national events accelerate a story a city is already telling about itself. Pittsburgh's story in 2026: housing prices that are still affordable relative to comparable metros, genuinely walkable East End neighborhoods, strong rental demand, and a tech and healthcare sector that's been growing quietly for a decade.

The Draft doesn't change any of that fundamentally — it introduces it to a much larger audience at once. The window before a major visibility event like this is historically the right time to move in Pittsburgh real estate.

If you don't have a QR code, you don't get in. Register now at NFLDraftPittsburgh.com before the event fills up.

When is the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh?

April 23–25, 2026. Round 1 kicks off Thursday, April 23 at 8pm ET on ESPN, ABC, and NFL Network. Rounds 2–3 follow on Friday, April 24 at 7pm ET. Rounds 4–7 wrap up Saturday, April 25. If you're only going one night, Thursday's Round 1 is the primetime event — that's when the big picks happen and the cameras are rolling.

Where exactly is the 2026 NFL Draft campus in Pittsburgh?

The 2026 NFL Draft campus in Pittsburgh spans two sites. The Draft Theater and Main Stage are located on the North Shore, just outside Acrisure Stadium. The NFL Draft Experience fan festival is at Point State Park in Downtown Pittsburgh. The two sites are connected by the Roberto Clemente Bridge (pedestrian-only during the event) and the Gateway Clipper river shuttle running along the Allegheny.

What is the parking situation for the 2026 NFL Draft Pittsburgh?

The full traffic and parking plan for the 2026 NFL Draft Pittsburgh will be released approximately five weeks before the event. Realistic expectation: driving directly to the campus and finding nearby parking is not a viable strategy. The recommended approach is to use Pittsburgh's T light rail (free between Downtown and the North Shore), park-and-ride options farther out, or the Gateway Clipper river shuttle. If you've navigated a Steelers home game on the North Shore, multiply that across three full days with no defined endpoint.

What Pittsburgh neighborhoods are closest to the NFL Draft?

The North Shore is immediately adjacent to the main stage. The Strip District is a 10-minute walk from both Draft sites and will see massive visitor spillover. Downtown Pittsburgh and the Cultural District anchor the Point State Park fan festival. Lawrenceville is the closest East End neighborhood at 15–20 minutes from both sites — the best base for visitors who want proximity without being in the thick of it.

What is the bag policy for the 2026 NFL Draft Pittsburgh?

The 2026 NFL Draft follows standard NFL clear bag policy. Clear bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted. Small clutch purses are allowed. Non-clear bags are generally prohibited. Full details will be confirmed in the NFL OnePass app's Know-Before-You-Go section closer to the event.

Where to stay near the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh?

Downtown Pittsburgh hotels are the closest to Point State Park but are filling quickly and pricing at a premium. For better value, Lawrenceville and the East End offer short-term rentals within 15–20 minutes of both Draft sites. The North Side near Acrisure Stadium is convenient for the main stage but expect extremely limited availability. Book accommodation as soon as possible — the 2026 NFL Draft is expected to draw 500,000–700,000 visitors to Pittsburgh over three days.
